Pelican Holiday Lights, a Christmas light installation company in Jacksonville, Florida. The contest is not sponsored by or connected to Facebook, Nextdoor, Google, YouTube or TikTok.
People 18 or older who own a single home in Duval, St. Johns or Clay County, Florida, or live there with the owner's permission. Pelican employees and their households can't enter.
Add the home with the Add your home form, with one to five photos and the consent box checked. One entry per home. Entries are accepted until December 23, 2026, 11:59 p.m. Eastern and appear on the map after review.
Visitors tap the heart on a home's card. Each visitor can give each home one heart per day. Voting closes December 25, 2026, 11:59 p.m. Eastern.
The approved entry with the most valid hearts when voting closes wins. A tie goes to the entry that was approved first. We announce the winner on this page on December 26, 2026 and contact them by phone or email; if we can't reach the winner within 7 days, the prize goes to the next entry.
One free seasonal installation at the winning home in the 2027 season — design, our commercial LED on loan, installation, service calls and January takedown — with a value of up to $1,500. No cash alternative; it can't be transferred. The install date is set with the winner in fall 2027. The home must be in our service area, and the roofline must be safe to work on; HOA approval, if needed, is the winner's job. The winner is responsible for any taxes.
We review every entry and can decline or remove one that breaks the content rules (close-up faces of children, readable license plates, people who didn't agree to be shown, anything offensive) or that we can't verify. Hearts that look automated, bought or mass-produced don't count.
We may show the winning home's display name, area and submitted photos on this site and on Pelican's social media. We never publish a phone number or email, or the exact address unless the owner chose to show it.
If something outside our control stops the contest from running fairly — a technical failure or widespread fraud — we may pause, change or end it and will explain why on this page. Void where prohibited.
Contest FAQ
How do I vote?
Open a home on the Jacksonville lights map and tap the heart. Each visitor can give each home one heart per day until December 25, 2026, 11:59 p.m. Eastern.
Can public displays win?
No. The zoo, the parades, Deck the Chairs, Nights of Lights and the neighborhoods on the map are there to visit. Only homes added by their owners are entries.
Do I have to buy anything?
No. Entering and voting are free, and buying from Pelican does not help an entry.
What exactly is the prize?
A free seasonal Christmas light installation at the winning home for the 2027 season: design, our commercial LED on loan for the season, installation, service calls during the season and January takedown, up to $1,500 in value. There's no cash alternative.
What if the winning home needs more than $1,500 of lights?
We design a display within $1,500, or the winner can pay the difference at our normal prices. It's their choice.
How do you stop fake votes?
We count one heart per home per day from each connection and review the pattern before announcing the winner. Hearts that look automated, bought or mass-produced are not counted, and an entry that relies on them can be disqualified.
What happens to my photos?
They appear on the map and may appear in Pelican's social posts about the contest. You can ask us to remove your home at any time; removing it also withdraws it from the contest.
