St. Augustine is the south end of our zone and the oldest housing on our list: about 4,800 detached homes in the city with a median build year of 1979, 64 percent owner-occupied and a median value near $409,000, plus about 3,400 more in St. Augustine Shores from the mid-1990s. December here already has a high bar — the city's Nights of Lights display turns the historic district into one of the best-known light shows in the country, and visitors drive the side streets to see the houses too. The homes are different from the suburbs: two-story wood-frame houses with deep porches in Lincolnville, 1920s and 1950s homes in Davis Shores, raised beach houses on Anastasia Island and Vilano Beach. Porches and railings are the star here, so a typical design is the porch columns, rails and roofline in warm white, with the yard oak or palm wrapped.

Christmas lights in St. Augustine: FAQ

Do you install lights in St. Augustine's historic neighborhoods?

Yes — Lincolnville, Davis Shores and the streets near downtown. Older wood-frame homes get clips that don't mark the trim, and we never nail into historic woodwork.

Can you match the Nights of Lights look?

Warm-white, clear-style bulbs on rooflines, porches and trees is the classic St. Augustine look, and it is what most owners here ask for.

Do you go to Anastasia Island and Vilano Beach?

Yes. Raised beach houses there mostly need stair rails, porches and the roofline lit, and the salt air is why we use sealed commercial LED.

How far south do you go?

St. Augustine, Anastasia Island, Vilano Beach and St. Augustine Shores are in our zone. Further south, call and we'll tell you honestly whether we can schedule it.
