How Much Does Christmas Light Installation Cost in Jacksonville?

Most people who ask what Christmas light installation costs in Jacksonville expect a number per strand. Professional installers don't price that way. The price is built from the house — how many feet of roofline, how high, what kind of roof — plus each tree and the front entry, and it usually includes the lights themselves, the install, service through the season and the takedown in January. Here is how the numbers work in 2026.
The headline number: price per foot
Seasonal, all-inclusive lighting in Northeast Florida runs about $5 to $8 per foot of roofline. That rate covers commercial-grade LED supplied by the installer, the clips, the timer, the labor to hang it, service calls if a section goes dark, and taking it all down after New Year. At that rate, 100 feet of roofline is roughly $500 to $800 and 250 feet is roughly $1,250 to $2,000. Most companies, including us, have a minimum — ours is $799 for a home.
What a typical Jacksonville house costs
A typical Jacksonville home lands between $900 and $2,500. Where you fall depends on a few things:
- Footage. A long single-story ranch in Mandarin can have more feet of roofline than a compact two-story in Nocatee.
- Height and pitch. Two-story ridges and steep gables take more time and more ladder work.
- Roof type. Shingle, barrel tile and metal each need their own clips; tile is slower.
- Extras. Palms, oaks, the front door and railings are priced on top of the roofline.
Large estates with long rooflines, several gables and a driveway full of palms can run $3,000 to $5,000 or more.
Palms, trees and the front door
Trees are priced one by one: $75 to $250 per tree, depending on height, trunk and how tight the wrap is. A pair of sabal palms along the driveway is the most common add-on in Jacksonville; a forty-foot Washingtonia that needs a lift is at the top of the range or quoted separately. A lit wreath and garland on the front door start at about $150, more with columns and railings.
Permanent lighting is a different purchase
Permanent LED lighting — a low-profile track under the roof edge, controlled from an app — is installed once and stays up all year. It typically costs $25 to $45 per foot, or $3,000 to $8,000 for a typical home. Compare it with several seasons of seasonal installs, not one. If you plan to stay in the house and like lighting it for more than Christmas — Fourth of July, game days, everyday warm white — it can work out cheaper over time. Our permanent vs seasonal guide goes through the trade-offs.
Why not just buy lights and do it yourself?
You can, and plenty of people do. The bulbs are the smaller part of the cost. Add clips, extension cords and a timer, two weekends on a ladder — one up, one down — and storage space for tangled strands. Big-box strands also tend to fail mid-season, and a two-story roofline is a real fall risk. The professional price buys the ladder work, commercial-grade LED that lasts, and a crew that comes back when a section goes out.
How to pay less
- Book early. Many installers discount bookings made in early fall. Ours is $100 off when you book by October 31.
- Light the front first. The front roofline and the entry are what people see from the street. Add palms next year.
- Come back next year. Returning clients' lights are already cut to the house and labeled, so the second season is faster to hang. Storage is included.
- Book with neighbors. A street done on one day is efficient for the crew.
