Julington Creek is what most people in St. Johns County call the stretch of neighborhoods along Racetrack Road and State Road 13 north of County Road 210 — Julington Creek Plantation itself, plus Durbin Crossing, Bartram Park on the Duval line and Cimarrone around its golf course. It is not one Census place, so instead of numbers, here is what we see on the ground. The typical house is a two-story stucco home from the late 1990s to the 2010s with a front-load garage, one or two front gables and a pair of palms or a young oak in the front yard; screened pool cages out back are common but rarely part of the display. Streets are long and curving, which means a lit house is seen from an angle as people drive in, so the garage outline and the corner of the roofline nearest the street do a lot of the work. Associations here have their own guidelines for exterior holiday décor, and many neighbors book together so the whole street goes up on the same day. Newer homes with continuous fascia are also a good fit for permanent lighting, which some owners pick so they can use it for game days and the Fourth of July as well.
