About the name

Why a pelican?

The brown pelican is the bird of the First Coast — on every pier from Mayport to the St. Augustine inlet, gliding over the waves at Jax Beach. It is patient, it works in a crew and it carries a lot more than it looks like it should. A pelican in a Santa hat with a string of C9s in its bill seemed like the right mascot for a company that hangs Christmas lights under palm trees.

FAQ

Christmas light questions? Straight answers.

How much does Christmas light installation cost in Jacksonville?

Seasonal lighting is priced by the foot of roofline — $5 to $8 per foot with our commercial LED, installation, service calls and takedown included. Homes start at $799 and a typical Jacksonville home runs $900 to $2,500. Palms and trees are $75 to $250 each and an entry wreath with garland starts at $150.

Do I have to buy the lights?

No. We supply commercial-grade LED and it is included in the price. For returning clients we store your lights between seasons, labeled by section of your house.

When should I book?

October. Installs run from about November 15 to December 10 and the dates fill in the order people book. Book by October 31 for the early-bird $100 off.

When do you take the lights down?

In early January, usually between January 2 and 15, on a scheduled day. We remove every clip and leave the gutters as we found them.

Will you damage my roof or gutters?

No nails, screws or staples. Lights hang from clips that slide onto the gutter lip, under the shingle edge or under the tile, and come off at takedown.

Do you need an electrician?

Not for seasonal lights. They are plug-in commercial LED that runs from your existing outdoor outlets on a timer, with no changes to your home's wiring. Permanent systems that need a new outlet or hard-wiring are connected by a licensed electrician partner.

What if a strand goes out?

Service calls are included through the season. Call or text and we come back and fix it.

Can you light palm trees?

Yes — it is one of our most requested add-ons. Trunk wraps on sabal, queen and Washingtonia palms, priced per tree at $75 to $250 depending on height.

What is permanent lighting?

A low-profile LED track mounted under the roof edge that stays up all year. You change colors and scenes from an app — warm white every evening, red and green in December, team colors on game day. It runs about $25 to $45 per foot, $3,000 to $8,000 for a typical home.

Do you work with HOAs?

Yes. We follow your association's guidelines for holiday décor and timing, and we light community entrances and clubhouses too.
